QR Guide

Core Concepts

YAQRSA separates the Place from the Game. This allows you to re-use your physical locations for many different events.

1. Location Library

The Location Library is your database of physical spots.

  • What it is: A record of a real-world location (e.g., "T-Rex Exhibit", "Main Entrance", "Rose Garden").
  • Why use it: You only need to define the name, description, and default clue once. You can then use "T-Rex Exhibit" in your "Summer Hunt," "Halloween Hunt," and " VIP Tour" without re-entering the details.

2. Hunts

A Hunt is a specific game or event.

  • Stops: You select locations from your library to be "Stops" in the hunt.
  • Clues: You can override the default clue for a specific hunt (e.g., make it harder for adults or easier for kids).
  • QR Codes: Each stop in a hunt generates a unique QR code. Scanning the T-Rex code for the "Summer Hunt" works differently than scanning it for the "Halloween Hunt".

3. Scanning & Playing

  • No App Required: Players scan the QR code with their phone's camera.
  • No Login: Players just enter a Team Name (Nickname) and a 4-digit PIN.
  • Progress: We remember their progress on their device.

Step-by-Step Guide

  2. Click New Location.
  3. Enter a Name (e.g., "Fountain") and a Default Clue (e.g., "Look for splashing water").
  4. Save. Repeat for all your spots.

  6. Victory: Set a custom message or a Reward Link (e.g., to a coupon) for when they finish.

Step 3: Go Live

  1. In the Hunt List, click the Rocket Icon (Make Live) to activate the hunt.
  2. Test It: You can scan the QR codes yourself to verify the flow.
  3. Monitor: Use the Report button to see real-time stats on scans and completions.

Step 4: Maintenance

  • Location Library: Add new spots as you find them.
  • Activity Feed: Check your Home Dashboard for a real-time feed of player joins and scans. This helps you monitor the pulse of your active hunts.
  • User Preferences: Customize your date formats and week start calculations in the User Preferences guide.
